BIO
Michał Grotecki is a composer of classical, popular, and media music, as well as a lyricist, devoted to piano performance from his earliest years. He won first prize at the 9th International Interpretation Competition “Student Artistic Activity” in Ružomberok, Slovakia. In 2014, he made his debut with the suite Stream of Life for mixed choir and symphony orchestra, premiered at the Częstochowa Philharmonic.
His oratorios Siege of Jasna Góra and The Vows of Jan Kazimierz - combining narrator, choir, orchestra, and sound effects - earned him recognition among the circle of Jasna Góra composers. Since 2017, he has also been writing songs: his pieces appeared on Gloria Lipińska’s album Diary, and the single “Zostań”, created for The White Tigers, propelled the band to the semifinals of Poland's Got Talent show in 2019.
He completed his master’s degree in Professional Media Composition in Chichester, UK, specializing in composing soundtracks for film, commercials, and video games. He continues to collaborate on the Hello Zoś audiobooks.
He draws inspiration from careful observation of the world and painting - picking up a brush himself from time to time - and his passion for cinema, video games, and advertising slogans enhances his creativity and sensitivity to storytelling. He invites collaboration on film, entertainment, and functional projects where music can help tell a story and breathe life into the entire endeavor.
”I recommend Michał Grotecki to anyone who looks not only for creativity, and specific style but also wants close cooperation.”

”Michał Grotecki is well known for his sensitivity to the sound, phrase, and form of the pieces he composes.”

”Working with Michał is pure pleasure. He knows how to match the emotions in music to those in the text (which is no small feat when it comes to children's audiobooks). He listens to the author's vision, works quickly and until it's done, and has a great sense of humor.”
